Blog for Supporters: Communication — Generation Lyme

Communication

Communication is valuable, especially when you're supporting someone with Lyme disease. Symptoms can alter the way that folks need to be communicated with. That could mean more frequent check-ins to ensure they have everything they need or learning when symptoms are so intense that they need peace and quiet.

Doctors and their staff, insurance companies, pharmacists--supporting someone with a chronic illness like Lyme may put you in regular communication with people you have barely spoken to before. Navigating all of that is a skill in itself, and if you can step in to manage those tasks, it takes a burden off of someone while they're at their lowest.

We appreciate you and want to offer you the support that you need, as well! We have monthly Meet-Ups for Parents, Partners, and all Supporters where you can communicate with people who understand what you are going through.
